It was held in Bologna, at the Palazzina della Viola, historic venue of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Bologna, the launch meeting of the project Life Agrowetlands II - (LIFE15 ENV / IT / 000423 SMART WATER AND SOIL MANAGEMENT IN AGRO Salinity WETLANDS), of which the University of Bologna is the project leader. The meeting, which lasted all day on Thursday, September 22th 2016, gave the official start to the Life Project co-funded by the LIFE program from 2014 to 2020, and for three years and a half, until June 30th 2020 will see the partners involved in the trial for an innovative technology solution - the management system of irrigation SMART-AGROWETLAND - to reduce the use of water and soil salinization in agrowetlands ecosystems.
The meeting, as well as technical and organizational time to the activities of the project partners, wanted to be a first opportunity to engage key stakeholders to the facts related by the project itself. Welcomed by the greeting of prof. Aldo Bertazzoli, Director of DIPSA - Department of Agricultural Sciences, University of Bologna, are in fact intervened Mario Montanari - Directorate General for Agriculture Emilia-Romagna Region, Paolo Mannini - Director of Reclamation Canale Emiliano Romagnolo Consortium, Pietro Pasini - Director of PROMOSAGRI, Giacomo Buganè - President of Geo L @ b non-profit organization and Giampaolo Amadori - CEO of Alma Mater Foundation.
All partners participated to the technical work in the afternoon: the cooperative Agrisfera, the largest agricultural cooperative in Ravenna, IRIS - Spanish society of advanced engineering and OSV Onfield Smart Vision that has its headquarter in Villa Poma (MN), international trading company for manufacturers of agricultural machinery.
