The origins of the University of Bologna go way back, and it is considered to be the oldest university in the Western world. Its history is intertwined with that of the great names of science and literature, it is a keystone and a point of reference for European culture. Civil, Chemical, Environmental, and Materials Engineering department (DICAM) and Agricultural Sciences department (DipSA) participate to AGROWETLANDS II project.

Agrisfera is the biggest cooperative farm in the province of Ravenna (Italy); it counts nearly 400 members. Agrisfera manages and cultivates an area of more than 4,000 ha and also operates in various agricultural sector such as the production of high quality milk, the production and marketing of ornamental woody plants, the production of biogas, through two units of 1MW each. Today Agrisfera adopts the precision farming techniques for nearly all the herbaceous crops of its farms, using monitor and autoguidance systems for the tractors, the fertilizer spreaders and for the combines. Agrisfera will assist the experimental field activities of AGROWETLAND that will take place in five of its farms, providing its wideexpertise on the precision agriculture.

OSV is a highly qualified agricultural manufacturing engineering company. It was founded more than 40 years ago as a commercial department for a group of agricultural machinery manufacturing companies. Since its origins its activity has been focussed in the agriculture sector, and they now have built up extensive commercial networks and contacts across the EC embracing dealers, farmers, wholesalers, etc. For this project in particular OSV will act as a specialized SME supplier of the technology required. The company will share its technical expertise in the field of existing irrigation equipment and management systems and will assist the University of Bologna and IRIS in the technological developments required to adapt the environmental monitoring instrument.

Winet Srl is a young company, founded in 2011, dealing with the creation and development of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) for innovative loT applications, mainly in the field of environmental monitoring, agricultural support and landslides detection. Winet develops solutions based on multifunctional devices, characterized by small size, low cost and highenergy efficiency. Winet has taken part in EU (EuroCPS of Horizon 2020) and regional (Emilia Romagna - Startup innovative 2013) funded projects dealing with agriculture topics; some of its engineers are co-authors of papers published on main international journals or presented at international conferences. The Company has an active collaboration with different University Departments and works both with public authorities (CER-lrrinet) and big companies or cooperatives (Zespri, Apofruit).
The Winet's engineers involved in the Agrowetlands Il project are expert of hardware MCUs, WSN communications and energy efficiency. Winet will realise the WSN and the irrigation web portail of the project.
